Owner:

Carry Gassett is the wife of David Gassett who drives the #78 360 Super Modified. The 2006 Madera Speedway season will be the second season Carry and David have owned and raced their own car. Carry will be in charge of all the finances and paperwork work for the team along with preparing meals on race day and being the videographer. She is also the team support provider making sure everybody is having "FUN" and not stressed out about things.

Pit Crew In The Stands and Shop:

Chase and Makenna Gassett are David and Carry's two children. Chase who is 5 years old is a diehard race fan who loves to watch his Daddy race as well as Nextel Cup racing on the television. One of Chase's first words were "Nony" for his favorite Nextel Cup driver Tony Stewart. Chase spends Sunday afternoons with his dad watching racing and identifying numerous Nextel Cup drivers by their faces, numbers or cars. Makenna is 4 years old and quickly learned who Tony was as well. When Makenna isn't playing hot wheels with Chase she enjoys messing up Chase's neatly lined up die cast cars to get a reaction from him. Makenna and Chase like to sit in the racecar in the garage and "drive it". Chase and Makenna also enjoy helping their dad by cleaning the racecar and misplacing tools on work nights in the garage.

Pit Crew:

Dave Gassett is the father of David and owned all of David's racecars earlier in his career. Dave will help out with all aspects of the car including: maintenance, set-up, and pit crew when he has recovered from his heart valve replacement surgery.

Jerry Jones is a long time member of the Gassett Racing Team. Jerry has been on the pit crew throughout the years that David has raced supermodifieds. Jerry helps out with all areas of the car from maintenance to tightening David's seatbelts with his "COWBOY" physique.

John Hamada is returning to the Gassett Racing Team after helping out during their 1997 season. John has worked on various supermodified and sprint car teams in the past and has alot of racing knowledge. John's duties on the crew will be to help out in all areas of the race team. 

Tad Horiuchi is a new member to the Gassett Racing team in 2006. Tad and David raced against each other during 1995-1998 seasons . Gassett Racing purchased their current motor from Tad and his Dad George during this past off season. Tad  helps out in all areas of the race team

Rian Bowman joined the team at the end of the 2006 season. Rian and David's wife Carry went to high school together at McClane High in Fresno. Rian helps out in whatever area is needed.

Sean Mulligan joined the team at the beginning of the 2007 season. Sean and David met while David raced 360's in 1998 and 1999. Sean is a mechanic by trade and has worked on many racecars  over the years and will help out in all areas.

Jimmy Herd is a mechanic by trade and knows a lot about the mechanics of a racecar. Jimmy and David became friends after racing together during the 1998 360 Super Modified season. Jimmy helps out in whatever area is needed.

Motor Builder/Tuner

Gene Kawahata of Kawahata Racing Specialties has been the motor builder and tuner for Gassett Racing since 1999. Gene has built many motors over the years and knows how to make them go fast.
